Where do Broken Hearts go? — Haiku Prompt

They stay with the one
Who has broken them apart
And keep themselves warm.

No, a heart won’t fray,
Nor stoop low to martyrdom
And succumb to end.

One may pity them,
But where do broken hearts go?
Ask not of obscure.

Take your deepest breath,
There’s more than what blind eyes seek
And what lips can’t speak.

So desperately
They grip hard of sanity
Upon their triumph.

Keep your guards way up
Like shattered glass they anguish,
But wound harsh thief’s flesh.
